Root canal treatment may be
required when the patient experiences severe pain and/or
infection in a tooth. The pain/infection is often
a signal that the nerve of the tooth is either dying or
dead. The treatment for this involves cleaning out
the rotten nerve and filling the root canals of the tooth
which is a time consuming process. Years ago an afflicted
tooth would have simply been extracted. However,
root canal treatment preserves the tooth as well as eliminating
the previous pain. It is always our aim to save teeth
and root canal treatment makes this possible in most cases. Although
most patients are nervous about this procedure, the treatment
